Wondering what happens when you hire a landscape designer? Here's our breakdown so you know what to expect when you decide to go with us for your landscape design and build!
After searching through a long list of contractors, you find us, Cross Creek Landscape! You'll give us a call, or fill out our contact form (here) and we will reach out to you! We'll ask you a few preliminary questions like where you project is located, your project details, and when we'll put you on our schedule for Randy and/or Cameron to come out and take some preliminary measurements and talk to you about what you envision in the outdoor space.
We ask for a 50% down payment for the design at the time the contract is signed. We will then schedule a meeting for our guys to do detailed measurements, this is called surveying.
These measurements help us create accurate sitemaps for our design blueprints. We will take them back to our office, sketch out your design, and create a 3D rendering of your new outdoor living space.
Once we finish your design, we will call to set a design meeting where the final 50% payment for the design will be collected, and we'll show you a virtual walkthrough of your landscape. We'll give you a cost break down, finalize any changes you would like to make to the design, and enjoy some wonderful coffee with the rest of the team. .
Once the design is finalized, we will send you the 3D walkthrough, and your construction contract. Once that is signed, and 10% of the down payment for the construction is paid, we will add your project to our build Calendar. Depending on how early in the season the contracts are signed, this could be 1 week to 3 months or more! If you know you want your landscape finished by a certain time, make sure you get on the calendar early!
Before we start digging in the ground, Randy and the construction team will walk through the project with you once more in your space. We will collect 40% Payment and then start digging up the old to place the new.
Build time is very dependent on weather, and the complexity of your project. You'll have a timeline estimate given at at the design meeting, and then again at the Preconstruction meeting when we know the weather forecast for the upcoming week. Somewhere around 2 weeks to halfway through the build, we'll collect 25% of the build payment. Our crew is a fun bunch of guys, you'll see them working hard and laughing the whole way.
The final walkthrough, (this is it!) the unavailing of your new outdoor living space, specially personalized to fit your unique needs and wants. The final 25% of the construction payment is due, exit contract signed, and photos and videos are taken of the project for marketing material.
And that's it! You then get to enjoy your space with your friends and family!
